FUN is all how you look at things. We are 0 for 8 this year. We are still having fun. Already planning for next year.

Life is too short you have to make it fun.

Yikes! I'm sure we're having fun....when I started I said 500 lbs would be my goal...now I look around and you guys are killing me...six years now and 500 is no longer my goal now I want 828... but 403 would still be a PB...Insane! Yeah we are nuts....but in my town they love whatever I get..It's not topsfield!....GrowEmBig!...and as Al sez..wait til next year!

I agree with Norm and Mike. Life is too short and keep it fun. There is no need to worry about what you can't control or even the things you can. Hey they are just pumpkins and there are more important things in life. I may never grow a monster but I'm having fun growing the small ones. LOL

the most fun is watching people's reactions after it is done, makes all the long days and hard work worth it

I highly endorse growing additional "others" while growing AG's....long gourds, giant cushaws, hubbards, onions, sunflowers or tall corn etc.....pumpkins all too often disappoint and much alternate fun can be had doing the others. Less work...less room, perhaps kless "respect" but still fun. Of course that being said....my carrots have all rotted but one thats been in the fridge for three weeks now, the sunflowers got blasted by hail this afternoon, the long gourds have expired at 85 inches, and the watermelon at 85lbs has mites...lol......they all suck....lol

Between the weather, fighting bugs, being sick having surgery, losing 3 plants, having a great wedding for my youngest, having 3 grandchildren this year and another on the way Im still having fun. I,ll have something to show maybe if it keeps growing and doesn,t rot. Im still learning about growing AG here in this heat. One year I,ll get it right. Best about growing AG,s Ive met alot of great people and had a heck alot of fun at the weigh offs.
