We saw a video on the news Tuesday night that showed a Mr Foss with a 1200 pounder that had a stem split into the cavity (mouse according to the grower). Did anyone else see the video? What seed was it grown from?? Thing was awesome!

The pumpkin was grown from the 1432 Carlson/Peterson. It's under BillF in the grower Diary.. Would have CRUSHED our State record by 125 lbs.. Damn Mouse

Gad's it did have a Stem split when it was several hundred pounds that had had healed. As the stem grew it almost completely healed closed. The mouse enlarged the hole and entered the pumpkin 10 days prior to the fair. For the rest of the story see http://www.bigpumpkins.com/msgboard/ViewThread.asp?b=3&p=170470

Sweet BillF, that thing was totally awesome and made National news! We hope you have a back up lurking in the patch still.
