Theo, Porrum of England just broke the European squash record. You are history. He's over 800 lbs.

I'd keep an eye on Steve Z. with his 1370 Rose. Maybe a Michigan state record in the making?

I had one the size of a softball three weeks ago. It is now Approx 270 lbs. This is my biggest I have ever grown. Just hope it survives till the end.. Some of my leaves have started to yellow on a couple of my plants with no sign of bug (svb) damage. I will be happy with any size now, as long as it survives. I got my plants on the first week of June. I really wonder what this sucker would have done had I been able to get it out the first of May. Dang rain kept my soil to wet.

biggins are everywhere this time of year. as usual many near misses and disapointments to be found. like the man once said " if it was easy everyone would be doing it" the credit goes to EVERYONE who gives it their best effort. personally i think the world record will fall a couple times. possibly in ohio, pa, pacific north west and new england.

Growers with bags on their heads can never be trusted to post their weights in public. LOL
Its these quiet ones you have to watch.

Man, it's still August! Wait a few more weeks before bringing this up again... so much can happen in the last few weeks... splits, mice, wind destroying plant, gopher destroying fruit... not to mention cold snaps, diseases, and other little bugs that are still munching on the plants... or a million other things that I haven't mentioned either. It might be big now, but "It ain't over till it's over", as I heard one reputable grower once say! Good luck to all... biggest one certainly isn't in my patch this year, unfortunately... ah well.
