Hello Pumpkin Friends, It is very sad for me to announce that Jeff Glover passed away this morning from a heart attack. I know that he loved his wife Ally and his children very much. I know he loved growing giant pumpkins and watermelons too. I am so glad that his son was able to win the Ga. 4 H watermelon growing contest this year. He was very excited. He was a very good online friend of mine and I am going to miss our early Sunday morning chats very much. I was looking forward to meeting him in person someday and going fishing at St. George Island. Ally got on chat shortly after lunch and told us. I called the funeral home and here is a link where you can leave online condolences: http://clarkfuneral.com/contact.asp?id=12874&page=3 Please keep Ally and the children in your prayers. Ditto what everyone here is saying. This comes as just a huge shock to me as Jeff emailed me last week. I can say nothing but good things about Jeff. Having many IM conversations through the years, family was always #1 with him. My heart goes out to them in their time of need, may God grant them comfort and peace.

Our thoughts & prayers go out to the Glover family. Jeff contacted me in the early spring about growing giant watermelons. He kept me informed of his & Tyler's progress throughout the season & was very proud when Tyler won the 4-H weigh off. It's nice he got the chance to do this with his son. He will be sadly missed.

Even though I never met him face-to-face, I considered Jeff one of my best friends. One of the few growers who actually wanted to plant MY seeds, he was generous enough to give me an 845 Bobier! He also shipped me a box of pecans from his tree every season. We had always planned to get together and swap pumpkin stories and go fishing. As this thread displays, Jeff lives on in the hearts of many. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ally, the kids, and family.

Jeff started growing Giants about the same time I did. We learned a lot, laughed often at what was thrown at us. Chatted to many hours. We had the cold. He had the heat and diseases that we could not pronounce the names of.
If any one has Brian's Email I think some one should let him know. Are we taking up a collection for the family? Let me know

I thought you would all like to see what is going to be read at the funeral tomorrow...thank you for caring, words cannot express the way I feel right now....love, Ally
My Darling My Friend The Love of My Life
I will never say goodbye, just until we meet again. You taught me to love like no one has loved before. You gave me strength when I was scared for Grandma and made sure I was there with her when she needed me. You gave me happiness, but most importantly, you gave me two beautiful sons. The day they were born our lives changed forever, you were glowing with joy. There will never be a day that goes by that I will look at them and not think of you. The 19 years of memories I have will last a lifetime. Nascar races, fishing at the beach or just watching your face light up when your garden started growing. Through all of this, I found peace and now it is your turn to find it. No more pain No more aches Just long overdue rest that you haven’t had in months. You are free to fly and be our angel. Watch over us, guide us to make the right decisions, and protect us from harm. You will never be more than a prayer away and for that, I am thankful. I will leave you now with three hearts filled with love from Tyler, Adam and I.
Always know that you made me happy and no one can ever take that away from me.
I love you….. Always have and Always will…
Sweet dreams my love…..
Jeffrey,,,,,,,You had me from hello
I Love You, Allison

There are no words to say how I feel about all of you...the boys are asking alot of questions now and we're not starting over but we're going to try to move on, I have no choice. The good Lord needed him more than me and that is the only peace I can find. My family thanks you also, as while ppl were coming and going, I left this page open for them to read to see what kind ppl there are in this world. I am trying to keep the pumpkins going for tyler that jeff pollinated and so far so good, but I will tell you this, I am just letting them grow, keeping them covered from the sun and watering the crap out of them late in the afternoon. One is a little bigger than a basketball and I hope it makes it. Tyler has been covering vines so the wind won't break them. That's all I can do,,,,love watching them grow and maybe I'll have a little help from up above so Tyler can make the weigh off for4-H. I love ya'll from the bottom of my heart and I can't thank you enough for caring about jeff.
