Is about an inch wide and 1.5 inches deep. I cannot smell anything rotten, but the moisture I get out of the hole looks almost like curdled milk. I stuffed it with sulpher powder, and clean it out every day and stuff it again. The pumpkin still is growing, so will this heal or continue to crack to the cavity?

Could go either way. Continue what you are doing. Keep it dry and keep the fungicide on it. Remember the stem end flesh is very thick so it is possible to have a pretty deep split that does not go into the cavity. But keeping rot out of it is essential.
Good luck, I have the same happening to my fruit right now. Frank
