I grew Racer, Rockstar, and Orange Smoothie, all from Johnny's Seeds, which is located in Maine. All of these are listed as F1 hybrids.
If I save seed from these, will my crop next year be poor because of reseeding the hybrid, or will I see the same results?
All three are made to mature early in the northern climates, and they were fantastic. I am just being cheap too, gotta save about $10 so I can buy more for my giants!

Depending on how many different traits were in the original parent generation - is how many variations you'll see in the F2 generation....
For example: If it was just ONE trait that differed - and those two genes combined produced an intermediate trait (half-way or a mix between the two) you can expect a 1:2:1 ratio when you plant the F2... Which means only 50% of the seed will produce what you expect/want.
Chances are that the varieties in the original cross had far more than just one trait differing. So you'll have even less chance of producing what you expect.

               Thanks Science.
Anyone in the northern regions with shorter growing seasons, try the varieties mentioned above. Racer is very very early and looks great.
