Very high in phosphates, stinks bad, and if you get it on your shoes the smell will stay there.

One Iowa grower who has been very successful uses composted hog manure and corn stalk bedding pack material from hoop buildings. It seems to work well for him.

All hog manure is not equal. I assume you are talking about liquid manure? If it is out of a finishing building it will be very high in phosphorous and nitrogen. And have decent amounts of potash. But, yes if is going very close to your house, it will stink for awhile, it would help to till it in right away. I use manure out of hoop buildings. You get alot more orangic bedding material that way, and a little more potassium. And not as high of nitrogen levels. Plus it is usaually partially broken down already. good luck Ralph Trumm
