Rumors last night at the Barnesville Pumpkin festival of a secret fertilizer that starts with an R? Causing massive growth, in Southern Ohio and California. Does anybody know this secret formula? It also supposedly can burn leaves and make yellow tips on leaves and could damage pumpkins if not careful. Hmmmm...Inquisitive mind. Don

There is a company called "R-Fertilizers". This fertilizer is made in Florida and it's made out of citrus waste. If you do a search on the interent and type in R fertilizers you will find it.

Actually citrus & other food waste is used in a lot of natural fertilizers. Growth Products is right in White Plains, NY.

okay guys you have went a bit off base the "R" stands for Rex this is the salesmans first name, the company is Widmer & associates, ltd. They are a crop fertilizer company. that designs fertilizer programs and then sells the fertilizers to farmers, just like fertilizer companys anywhere. I tried the system this year on my Barnesville pumpkin went 131 lbs. light, also tried it on a watermelon turned the watermelon yellow!! (might have used a bit much!!)
