It's 24.4 degrees here right now. Anyone else with temps down there? My pumpkin may be frozen even under the blankets and tarps.

In Colorado it only got to 30 degrees. Sorry about that. Are you still going to a weigh off or anything? Are you a Cowboys Fan?

Our weigh off is Sept. 30th, here in Cheyenne. There will be some large (by Wyo. standards) pumpkins at our weigh off. Our new state record as of yesterday is 815 pounds. Yes, I like the Cowboys. They have been so bad for so long that it's not easy to be a Cowboys fan, but that's where I went to College, so I have to root for them.

Yeah, I live 15min from the USAFA base and I go to the AF games all the time and I was rooting for them to beat the Polks. Why do you guys say, GO POLKS, or am I mistaken?

POKES is short for cowpokes, or cowboys.

Hi James, it was me. I went to the scales thinking it would go upper 600's to low 700's and that it would end up my 3rd largest pumpkin. I'm not sure what to think now. I guess the jaw drop look I had on my face was priceless.

My pumpkins are grown on a bed of dry compost and as they grow and I add more compost, the compost tends to creep up the sides of the pumpkins, so I don't get good ss and ee measurements until after the weighoff. I plan to take my other 2 fruit to Cheyenne Sept. 30.

Yo Ron, posted your pics on the coloradopumpkins.com site. Nice pumpkin! way to go. Hope you take the record. If you have time come on down to the Jareds weighoff. EMail heading your way!

We made it through the weekend. I lost a few more leaves but should be OK for the next 10 days or so. Rei$$ has slowed way down, but Springer still has all of its leaves and is adding inches......he got KDL'ed last night....Will see what that will do....What about you LB? Still growing that monster in your patch?

All I have to say Ron is congratulations on the new record, and hopefully the luck of the heavy fruits spreads our way down south, and hopefully you did not use it all up..lol. Happing weighing the next few. JK
