It was a a sad day for the Lombardi family today. 4 days until the Penfield weigh-off and my 700 lb pumpkin went down to a blossom end split. She was looking great as of 2 days ago but then....XXX. I'm not sure how to label the seeds. Would it be 700 est DMG? The good thing is it beat my PB by 300 lbs. Mark

Hi Mark That’s a real shame your patch has been looked after very well and you deserve more. At least you know 1000lb is just around the corner good luck next year Ian

I think you should try to get it weighed, even if you cut it up and weigh it on a bathroom scale then is would be 700 UOW. If too late for that call it 700 est

I'm sorry Mark...The News Channel 12 coverage the other night was very good. The fruit was much more photogenic with it's butt in one piece though.
700 Lombardi '06 EST
UOW if the pieces can be placed on a scale as CountryKid suggests.

Sorry to hear this. My son and I know the feeling. He lost an 800+ 1 week before weighoff last year, and I lost a 750+ a couple days later. Hang in there, your time will come.

sorry about the loss. This is the sport of heartbreaks. I agree with UG to keep going. Just do not eat the seeds if you used lots of chemicals. One man's feast could lead to several bathroom visits or even a hospital stay.
