Wiz, I used to live in Englewood, Colorado when I was about 14 yrs of age and can always remember how cool it stayed early into the spring to summer and also how cool it was before fall was suppose to arrive. Seems like it was only hot for about 2 months out of the year. I dont know how you guys keep your pumpkins going without them stoping on growing. Seems like every year when I get my first cold night my pumpkins stop growing on me even if it does warm up later. You guys really grow under some tuff conditions thats for sure. If A colorado grower would grow a pumpkin like JD Megchelsen from Alaska does, under a green house do you think it would help in your weights?

Brooks,

Believe it. I would love to grow a AG in a greenhouse, I have been wanting a greenhouse attached to my residence for 20 years. Was the reason I purchased my current house as it has 30 on a south exposure between houses. Hence the creation last year of the wizardnator. I didnt get to start in it early but I had it up for May and needed to take down the plastic as it was 110° inside in May, and 90 outside. This year after a few modifications I plan to put it up early and hope we dont get a foot of wet snow.
But you are right, my Rei$$ started growing and we hit a cold spell and it really has not picked back up, growing very slow. Colorado this year has been odd, being warmer earlier then colder earlier. But if Montana, Wyoming and Alaska can set new state records, so we can here too!!! Gee it seems that 1010lbs would not be that hard, but it is, and I have learned to respect that but also focus on it too.
Grow'em BIG or die trying!!
