I'd like to construct a Tripod that would help me be able to load a pumpkin by myself or with help from one person. I can't download the site earlier suggested this year in the one diary. I need 4" x 4"s or 4" x 6"s? How long? One-Ton block and tackle or come-along? Bolt top together or chain?
Any suggestions would help. Thanks, Don

Don, I used 16', 4X4's, 3/4" treaded rod with nuts and washers to connect at the top, angle cut per the instuctions on Bart's powerpoint demo. Got a chain hoist off e-bay and simply wrapped a heavy duty 3/8" chain around and over the top of the tripod to secure, tied with a double knot. I have loaded 3 large dmg fruit by myself here on to trailor and pallet. The hardest part is setting up the tripod,,a helper and it goes very easy.
Here's the link to Bart's hompage,,lotta good info there,,if you don't have powerpoint,,find someone to download the tripod instructions for you.

Check your mail Don...you were standing right beside mine last year...of course you were too busy cranking on the come-along to notice :)
I won't be making the trip to Canfield this year. You are more than welcome to use my ring, chain, threaded rod and come-along if you need them.

Monty is the pic of your tripod in your diary? I would like to see it.
Thanks,

Doug,

I never thought to take pics of it for the diary last year. I could measure the angles on the 4 x 4's and make up a set of plans if you like.
