Hello all growers! For those that remember who I am, sorry to drop off the face of the planet for so long. Those who don't know me, I am one of the two first growers to experiment with AG propagation ( G is the other...hi G!)
I've not been myself for quite a few years now, but I am not dead! I've discovered that I'm simply just a diseased and imperfect grower. My personal growth (as well as my growing) has been hampered due to the progression of my health. I have never had medical insurance, so I never went to a doctor, until growing and life itself became impossible. After months of blood tests, doctor visits, anti-depressants which had no effect, and medical bills which itself might kill me, I finally have an answer to what is wrong.
I have two diseases... one is Cushing's Disease, an adrenal gland disease which is rare, but causes physical fatigue. the other is Narcolepsy, a chronic neurological disorder. This causes mental and physical fatigue. Without going into details, lets just say I can relate to how the zombies must have felt in "Dawn of the dead".

I'll need surgery for the Cushing's Disease eventually, hormone shots, and 8 to 18 months of further medical care. For the Narcolepsy, I'm now on Provigil (200 MG), Dilantin (an anti-seizure medication), and Lexipro (20 MG antidepressant). I remember now what it is to feel "alive" again, although I'm still a long way from feeling "normal".
My point here... life is as short as the growing season seems. If anyone reads this who may be in a similar non medical insurance situation and think you may have a health problem, even a small one, GO TO THE DOCTOR! Worry about your bills later... don't worry about your health later! If you fail to heed this warning, you may miss out on your best growing seasons of your life, just as I did!

Hi Gary... I'd like to get more info on the Denver weighoff... I had a horrible season too, nothing large again... I am feeling well enough now to attend our weigh off's and I'd like to meet all the new growers. Up until today, I had no plan to even do anything with my 2 largest fruits.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK, I took a few years off myself. I came back to find most the names I no longer know. I had a friend who bought a horse from CO. it also had Cushing's, this was just a few years back.............. Makes me wonder if your mad science has forced you into wanting a half horse half man helper, someone who can eat the weeds and fertilize all at the same time. Take care buddy. Ken

Marc & everyone else....A medical issue with NO insurance is a bitch. But consider all the folks who DO have insurance & still ignore the signs all because they're AFRAID to face the scary facts they don't want to hear.
