Wow, I never knew I had this many friends on this site until now, they sure do add up when you grow these giant pumpkins and its great to have friends like you all, who care.

My Brother lived a short 42 years and its just like Jamie Wexler told me, you don’t realize what your brothers or sisters mean to you until something tragic happens to them or to another person. My brother Andy wasn't a giant pumpkin grower but he really did get a kick out of the weights I have grown over the years, He would call me every year after weigh off and ask me” Well Brooks, what you end up with this year?. Id tell him the weight and his first words would be “”GEEZE BROOKS!!!!”“ and then he would start laughing historically telling me to hold on a minute while he told his wife, I could then hear him laughing while he pulled the phone away from his ear telling her what I grew . He was just amazed at how big I grew pumpkins while at the same time he thought was the funnest thing. When I would tell Andy that my pumpkins where small compared to other growers pumpkins then you could really here the amazement in his voice. Its just little memories like this you thought never meant anything at the time, but turns out to be one of the best memories. Although Andy had a short life Andy and I always kept in touch and I can always remember my grandmother saying you boys will need each other someday when you grow up and boy was she right.

There is obvious sadness in Andy's death but certainly not in vain. His passing has rekindled my own relationships with my two brothers and two sisters. Even though I had never met Andy, I am extremely grateful to him for the wake up call.
