After a couple of very busy weeks, finally have some time to digest all the record performances and achievements by all of you. Still a few weigh-offs to go, so you never know but here goes: - Ron and Dick Wallace; Hearty Congratulations, top 2 in the World and the World's first 1,500 lb. Atlantic Giant. - Brant Timm and Al Aten, first ever true green squash over 1,100 lbs. 1131 and 1121, respectively. Way to go! - Joe Jutras and Todd Kline on breaking the Long Gourd records, Super! - and finally, to all of you on your tremendous Provincial, State and European Records - Fantastic! Now, back to genetics....lol The Dills

Mr. Howard Dill look and see what you have done to this sport of growing giants dating back 30 or 40 years. So many things that now involve AG's. A 1500 pounder has now been grown with one of the AG seeds , will we ever see a 2000 pounder ?

Hi Al, Very good question on the first 2000 lb. pumpkin. Yes, by 2012. Here's our prediction according to history: In 1981, World Record at 493.5 lbs. It took 15 years to reach the 1,000 lb. plateau in 1996 (1061 Zehr and 1006 Greer). In other terms, 500 lb. AG gain. It took another 10 years to reach the 1,500 lb. level in 2006. Now, with such a vast number of top notch growers in the World, great seed stock; the odds of an estimated 1,600 pounder (OTT) going say 20% heavy, which is possible, you have yourself 2,000 lbs. Wait 'til next year, lol...
Regarding the new MN state watermelon record; yes, we did see the results and we congratulate James White on his 225 lb. melon, however, our post was directed to new World Records and I believe Lloyd Bright still holds the melon record @ 268 lbs. set in 2005.
All the best, Danny

Big salute, Without Howard and the rest of the Dill family none of this would be possible. I ordered a couple books from the Dills The pumpkin king and growing world class pumpkins II. I can't wait to read them. Scott B

The Dills are awesome! We had the good fortune of buying a couple of their 810 Dill seeds from their web site and the rest is history. Thank you Howard, Danny and all the Dill clan for your huge contributions to this crazy sport!
