Here is an email I got today, let everyone wish Mike well, and a speedy recovery
Hello Gary I am Mike Turner's Nephew Gareth and i am dealing with all of Mike's Emails etc while he is unable to get to the Computer. Mike is quite ill at the moment having suffered a relapse in a lower spine injury and is now undergoing treatment for liver and kidney damage as a result of over dosing on strong pain killers and is also being treated for depression and stress. Luckily Mike is able to see the computer from his bed and thought the file of the short film you just sent him was really funny, Mike does not have a lot to laugh about right now as he is so ill. He has also been on the receiving end of some quite malicious Emails from a so called pumpkin grower who i will not mention here although i will say that these Emails have contributed to his depression and stress. Mike sends his regards. Gareth

Mike, When it comes to positive, cordial, helpful, and polite people who post on BP.com, you're name would definitely be one of those at the top of the list. Though I've never met you, or emailed you(that I recall), based on your posts here at BP.com, you seem like a very kind and considerate person. I will pray for you, and I wish you well with your recovery.
Most sincerely, Doug Wallace

Mike I have talked to you in chat and I think you sent me a "tracking sheet" for my fruit this year,,,hope things improve you've got patchwork to do!!
as far as any malicous emails from a "grower" I think a "wannabie grower" is more likely,,,all of the growers I have met have been the most helpful and encouraging people I have met..
keep me informed on recovery and best wishes Mike !!!!

Is this Alun's son Gareth who stayed here a couple years ago? If so - Hello Gareth! Good of you to look after your uncle so.
Mike,
We'll say a prayer for your full & speedy recovery. Mind the doctors & do what they say. You'll mend faster & more completely this way.
I'll also try to send some good cheer your way so you might be amused during your rehab.
What email address should we use during your convalescence?

Steve. No i am not Alun's son Gareth who stayed with you when Alun visited the usa a few years ago and thank you also for your kind words and thoughts. The Email Address i use here is [email protected] and i can get emails directly to mike as i read them to him. I am also checking his other email address's on a daily basis, when possible, therefor he will get emails sent to those addresses.
Once again thank you all for your concearn and kind thoughts.

Hey Mike
I've been away on holidays for the past week & just seen this posting. I'm real sorry to hear that you've taken a turn for the worst. We talked earlier this year & I know just what your going through. I just hope that you will be able to get back into the garden someday soon. Although we've never personally met, your passion for the sport is evident by the emails & messages you've sent me & all the people you've helped on BP.com. Hang in there my friend & hopefully they'll be able to get you back up on your feet soon. If there's anything I can do to help out, please let me know. Take care & email me whenever you feel up to it.
Phil
