I thought I would try to get some information from growers this year just to help out the entire pumpkin growing community. This year I had one of my worst years yet so I have been asking people about their pumpkins and how thier year went. So I thought it would be a good idea to compile information from as many growers as possible about their 06 season. IF you would like to help just post info on: Your best plant(not necsarily the one that grew your largest pumpkin but the one that was easiest to maintain . plant(seed) that grew your largest pumpkin.
weight and cross of your largest pumpkin.
weight gain information.(circ.) THis wwould also probably help with the ailts and laundry benchmarks too.
how far out pumpkin(s) were set.
Ohter pumpkins and crosses you made this year.
Prep you made for your patch.
I'm sure people would love to know this information about each others year. It could also help you out on what you should do next year for your patch. You don't have to include all the information above, but just a good over view of your year will suffice.
Thanks

Three pumpkins and one squash.
1287 Van Kooten = 745 Wursten dmg (split day 41) 220 Gustavsson = 705 Wursten dmg (split day 35) 1095 Wallace = 700 Wursten uow (lost main at day 20!!!) 793 Olsen * = 432 Wursten dmg (split day 50)
745 = 1287 x 1095 (first pumpkin at 21 ft on main) Day 10 = CC 33.3 = 19 lbs Day 20 = OTT 216 = 222 lbs Day 23 = CC 103.1 (23.0 inches above 1000 lb benchmark) Day 26 = lost entire main root and 7ft of main vine Day 30 = OTT 285 = 492 lbs Day 40 = OTT 313 = 647 lbs Day 41 = split Day 52 - harvested = 745 lbs
Temperatures: July = highest average ever recorded in Dutch history - no rain August = coldest August ever recorded - 29 days with rain September = one of the warmest Sept ever recorded - no rain

Hi Alex, good to see you on this site again. I grew the following: 940 Mombert 00...It doublevined, so I trained a secondary as the main. Couldn't get a fruit to take(I blame the heat). This plant threw a lot of tertiaries, even after I thought I pinched 'em. Tall leaf stems.
603.5 Muller...short leaf stems, the vines were thick and yellow. One fruit split at about day 15, no other fruits took(darn heat). This plnat was throwing wheel-shaped fruits.
1233.5 Reiss...I grew a 733 lber. on it(over 25% heavy...no seeds). Nice growing plant, but wilted most in the heat, and had the most heat/sun damage to foliage.
