Anyone still have their giants going strong?? Mine is still rock solid, even after Halloween. My other one rotted, but this one in hanging in there, even after the freezes and winter like weather we have been having and what not. I am going to do it in Friday for the seeds.

the cool weather is the best preservative for these giants. if healthy when harvested they will last a long time under the right conditions my 1,450 and 1,110 have been sitting in a cool garage for a couple weeks now. will be carved and seeds harvested next monday. ditto for the rons 1,502 wallace as well. she was refrigerated and then carved at grand central last sunday a.m. perfect inside when opened pap

I harvested seeds from my State Fair pumpkin last Friday. It was in as good of shape as when I harvested it on August 22. Beatiful orange, no soft spots and very fresh inside. It was at the st fair for 12 days and then sat outside on display at a pumpkin farm the last eight weeks. Was covered when tempatures went below freezing.

Mine has been holding it's shape well. I opened a hole in the back about 3 weeks ago, to check for seeds. The cool temps. are likely helping, as pap said.

Mine has been outside, they weren't protected. I noticed yesterday though, that the pumpkin was getting the spots on it that was a tell tale sign it was starting to give in. I cut it up today and it was real nice and clean on the inside. Tons of seed as well. My mom is not happy with the fact they are taking up most of the kitchen counter at the moment. She suggested drying them out in the microwave. Yeah right.
