Bears

New Hampshire

After spending 15 years in beautiful New Hampshire I am going back to my roots in Illinois. I am trading rock-infested soil for Midwest black soil, where Football teams wear ORANGE. I will miss all the New England weigh-offs and growers, especially My Granite State buddies. I am pumped to get my hands into Illinois soil and to know better the Illinois growers I have already met and in addition of meeting more.
I will be working on an apple orchard in Hebron, Illinois called ROYAL OAK FARM. I plan to take next year off raising AG competitively and to concentrate on building the soil up for 08. I will probably raise some AG for genetic crosses for 08 also.
Any seed swap or request for my 06 seeds will still be mailed to the below address till 12-20 06. My family and myself plan on being in the Land of Lincoln in early January, just in time to see the Bears make their Play-0ff and Super Bowl run.

Let me extend an early "welcome back to the midwest". Great to have another "name" grower returning to the heart of the nation.
I'm sure our paths will cross at weighoffs.

Best of luck with the move,,that orchard looks like a prime cadidate for a future site !

What can I say? Jim is one of the best growers I have ever met. He is not only dedicated like other growers but he has many other things going for him. He is generous, kind, smart, and competitive. Jim is one of my role model growers. And, just like Jim once wrote in a NHGPGA newsletter about Jim Kuhn, I always wanted to beat my mentor but never could. I know that the guys up here in New Hampshire will miss everything you have done for us. Good Luck in your true home state and to your bears.

Jim,

Welcome home. I look forward to meeting you. I've heard a lot of nice things about you from Bruce Hooker. Although I live about 300 mile south of you, I hope our path will cross offen. Good luck with the move.
