Jim, that's 67% blown up. I for one had 4 out of 5 which is 80% and I know another grower on this site that went 7 for 8. That's 87.5%. Sorry Jim, you're still a rookie at this category :)

I nominate Christy & Nick for the "Jack & Jill Award" (even though I still have a hard time seeing them as a unified team it's more like it that they'll continue to have internal conflict, with who's got the biggest, but you know they'd pull together if they absolutly had too :)lol

the "frankenstein" definately goes to fran dalton whos enrty in the topsfielf fair was so ugly and stinky it was set off in an area all its own.no one even wanted to touch it. the "princess diana" hands down goes to joes 1225 jutras.the most beautiful color and form i have ever witnessed. the"arnold" nomination goes to ron wallace. he never gave up. never gave in. and finally was rewarded for his dedication and persistance. the "richard simmons" to our north of the boarder friend jim beauchemin. he gets worked up just talking about pumpkins.

I was thinking that I could nominate myself for the Arnold. But, I can't compete with Ron. So, is there an award for a grower who HAPPILY accepts defeat? I think I could win that one.
I've placed last at every weigh-off I've ever entered in the last two years (Port Elgin twice, Woodbridge Fair, Royal Winter Fair). But, I just spent the last two days moving four yards of manure into my small patch and tilling in about a foot of leaves raided from the neighbourhood. I'm not quiting (even if I ought to).

Wow thanks for the honor, BUT, I have other people in mind that are much more deserving. There's Tremor, countless questions, and he answers them all. Docgipe, same thing, How about all the club reps, that put in countless hours for the cause. How about the GPC board members, again countless hours for a better more professional hobby. The greatest thing about this crazy hobby is, The people, so my vote for The Opra award is any person that has dedicated time to better the hobby/sport. Now, I think I am more deserving of the Oinker award, lol It seems the more seeds I give away, or share, the more I end up with. Eddy

Boy, here in California we have many entries.... I could qualify for the unibomber award cause I always lose at least half of my pumpkins The ophra award goes to George Webster, who is so generous with his videos, tapes, and seeds. His giving really works, because the more he gives away the more he receives!!! The Jack and Jill goes to Jack and Lila Vezzolo, who are so gracious and they really compete against each other. Jack has probably missed more than one meal because he beat Lila at Borchard's weighoff!!! The Oinker award we better spread around, cause I know more than one!!!! Right at the top are Gary Miller, Greg Stucker, and I couldn't leave my Colo. buddy out, Joe Scherber!!! The agent orange goes to Gary Miller and Vern Blaziek, next time you see them, ask them!!! The Richard Simmons award goes to Kevin Smith and Scottie Solomon. Scottie used to call me and other growers in the middle of the day telling us of the tremendous growth he got last night!!! Clark Kent award goes to Jose Ceja, he never has anything until he shows up at the weighoff with a monster!!! Worry wart goes also to Jose Ceja. He worried so much about his 1110 which had a sag line that he cut it off 30 days before the weighoff and put it in cold storage!!!Frankenstein According to Vince Zunino, I am the Frankenstein recepient. Princess Diana goes to Vince Zunino Reach around is a tie between Jose Ceja and Leonardo Urena. That's all folks Pete Glasier
