I cut it ya some days my 815 Lbs and only 15 seeds inside and with the empty shells one 30. There is you it an explanation to have so few seeds? For me it is the first time that it arrives at me. Thank you beforehand for your answers. Jean louis

Jean, I had same you about the seeds in the 2006 pumpkins The only one that had gaved me a lot seeds is my 770 (1173 x 1370) all others gaved me only 40 to 50 good seeds! Can to be the cause the warm weather at the moment of pollination? the temperature in late june here in italy was 95 to 100°f in the momentof pollination hard problem! But it is just my opinion! I would agree with Sergio that temperature at time of & following pollination plays a role. Humidity may also be a factor.
It is well documented that certain hormones can induce parthenocarpy as well but we rarely treat pumpkins with fertilizers that contain enough to cause this condition.

we had a wierd one on the 1,450 as well
all other pumpkins from the wallace patch had very good amounts of healthy plump seeds.
the 1450 was the only seed disapointment as we got 100 good plump ones and about 150 that were hollow and in most cases incomplete at the seed coat.
go figure? all pumpkins were grown in the same soil, pollinated within a week of each other, got the same care ?
thats another one of those situations we may never get a clear answer to.
only thing i can think of is how much pollen actually got put to use on the 1450 vs the other pumpkins that were all pollinated from different plants

I guess no one will get an easy seed from your 1450

Dick your 1450 looked heavier that rons 1502, were you surprised it went lighter.
