How cold is it where you live ? Here in Colorado it is way below average with snow As cold as the fall has been here, after dec.21st when winter starts I think it will be a good year for getting rid of bugs and tree rats ( squirrels ) which we have an over abundance of...lol Minus 2 here two nights ago, 4 degrees last night, and it is 10 degrees now and falling..highs have only been in the upper 20s and maybe 32 yesterday.Hope everyone has their soil work done around here, as the deep freeze and perma-frost are upon us here in Colorado...Brrrrrr

We had a record breaking cold snap last week, Broke the 108 year record, Temp was minus 32 and the wind chill was minus 45, Lasted for 3 days. Couldn't use the outdoor pool, took too long to chop the hole. Agree on the bug problems, We have had above normal winters and crazy infestations of Black aphids which are destroying many trees. Eddy

The cold snap here has stopped all noticable above ground growth. The root development of the cover crops will continue untill the ground has frozen four or five inches deep.
The nice thing about this is the deer will soon find the top growth undesirable and start on the neighbor's foundation plantings.....mine too. It's time to put venison in the freezer.

We had a night of 11° last week, but it has warmed up and now we have typical rain.
