Lawrence County 4-H Club, Lawrenceburg, TN -- 1,051 lbs....Does anybody know what seed this was grown from?

Jessica I was wondering also and ive been trying on these boards but cant find much. Being a southern grower I definetly would like to know. Im gonna try to contact the Lawrence 4-H club and maybe find out.

Thanks guys! I figured out that 1051 was the weight by the 2nd weigh off....amazing!!! Guess there will be more than a few of us southern growers checking out the 781 Companion!

Yes Jess it weighed 1051 at the Allardt weigh off. I saw it and it sho was a purty orange color!

I believe next year there are gonna be a couple more 800 to 1000 pounders grown outta the south I believe Im gonna grow one next year and many others are gonna do the same. But I have been picking the brains of some of my western New Yorker pumpkin grower freinds so that might help.

If my patch continues on with it's track record of 50% increase each year.. MIGHT be up to 800 in '07! If theories of microbial enhancement of soil hold true, may end up with something even larger in the supplemented rows.
It'll be another fascinating year I'm sure! Wonder if my largest will be another Foss, or the Moore again? I've got some rather intriguing GS selfed seeds in from Mr Roger. And once I get an envelop out - I'll try a Fugly of Bosworths.. Hmmm, Foss, Moore, Bailey and Bos - sounds like a colorful bunch!
