Miracle Gro?????????????? Too much salt. I grow as organic as possible, sometimes fungucides are required though! Get your soil feeding the plant right and you won't need chemical ferts!

Milk injections seem to help really add the pounds in the heat we have here.

I think the chemicals have their place. I use organics- fish, seaweed, manure etc. But sometimes just to give it a boost or if it's early in the season I may give the plant a shot of Jack's20-20-20. I just don't go crazy with it.

Luke, I think you're getting really close to the next great discovery in growing AG's-- milk/chocolate! Since I've always been a non-conformist, I'll just stick to injecting dark chocolate until you prove me wrong!

I'm 100% SWEEEEEETTT. so I use my homemade maple syrup, last batch of the season, nice dark stuff. A few cups of that in 25 gallons of homemade worm compost tea..you can see the instant leaf and stem irrection.

Luke, AGs aren´t happy when soil is too cold, hence I was wondering what´s your experience with hot chocolate (instead of milk/chocolate which might be cold)??? I suspect you could get them grow fat like hell (hot chocolate should do the trick, at least it has done many many times before...but not with AGs so far).

all gardening is hydroponic. until the organic amendments are broken down into the salts carried by soil moisture and intercellular fluids, they can't pass through the cell walls to feed the plant. Organic is just slowly released by soil organisims, instead of being immediately available to the plant. The plant doesn't really care as long as it gets what it wants, when it wants it.

Ya, I used gallons of Maple Syrup this year right from Jim Bryson. I would foliar spray the blue Miracle Grow mixed with the maple syrup. My plants looked like a glazed blueberry donut.

A fat tax, WiZzy? Got inspired by taxbuster being around? Beware, there might be a great tax increase from time to time...things that were "3" yesterday could easily be "4" the next day.

Feel free to correct me if you have another opinion, and I'll be the first to admit that my chem knowledge is weak since I'm strictly an organic gardener, but since Miracle Grow is nitrates (in an ionic form), then wouldn't it just leach through the soil?

Tad, So Cal put plastic lining under his entire patch to prevent any leaching so he basically has a Miracle Grow cesspool. By spring that orange brew of blue mud should be primed to grow the new world record.

I like Seaagri.com, it is dehydrated sea water, I use a teaspoon to one gallon of water. I would like to see a few heavy hitters use it and see what kind of results they get. There web site has proof of alot of great results on other vegetables, fruits, farm fields. No it is not like putting table salt in your garden, it has every mineral there is in it. Just my thoughts. I foliar and drench with it a couple times a year. I have some I could send someone if you would like to try it to experiment with it, maybe a plant that is not for competition, I will pay for the bubble.
