Can’t remember when I’m supposed to prune all buds after a megabloom appears. Should I do this when the megabloom appears or wait until I’m sure pollination occurred? Thanks!!

Wait till pollination occurs since you may see another better bloom on plant. No hurry. I remove all the smaller blooms and leave a couple other flowers to pollinate with. Once they start to form I choose the fastest growing one and cull all other blooms, suckers etc. from then on. I top out the plant maybe 6 in. higher than bloom a few days after set. Just make sure you chose your keeper before doing this.

I'd start some pruning in advance. I think it will improve the odds of the pollination being successful if the plant isn't distracted by dozens of large suckers. Its ok to leave small buds and extra growing points as long as the plant is well maintained they wont hinder the tomato.

Thank you. I agree and should have stated I prune everything but wait on the good bloom(s). Good luck in growing a 10 lber. in Grittyville. Good luck Joe.
