How do you remove a tertiary that rises in the middle of the canopy without being destructive? A problem I've never yet managed to solve

I walk into the plants... carefully ;-) This is also a great opportunity to do some random leaf inspections for potential disease or insects. This is an advantage of traditional Christmas Tree (Box) method of vine management. Also, wearing long pants and boots seems to help reduce the chance of the plant catching on me.
