You have a fruit currently growing near this leaf or is this near the fruit you culled? Looks like what I've been seeing this year, nutrients getting sucked out of leaves. I haven't exactly pinpointed the nutrient in question but probably one of the mobile nutrients like potassium or magnesium or ? Yeah would be great for others to share ideas. Typically see these deficiencies at the stump/crown, but the fruit itself can act as a sink and suck away the nutrients too...? Thats my guess.

Warm spring high soil temps/ low soil moisture and the soil biology has called it quits early this year? A compost tea with some kelp/minerals/amino acids, something that kinda hits all the bases, might help. But it seems that its not gonna be an easy year. Way too early for the soil to be calling it quits. My extended opinion! Apologies!

I would wonder about potassium deficiency with the interveinal chlorosis and marginal necrosis you are seeing there. That being said I am still new to the giant pumpkin world but have a good bit of agronomy experience with field crops. If that was a soybean leaf I would think potassium.

Thanks. Brandon, yes the leaf was nearest the pumpkin. I think your observation is partly correct (nutrient drain) because the earlier growth near the crown and all the secondary leafs were not affected. Fattires, your observations are valid too especially if that is what happens with the soybeans.

So, I also had great feedback from Dave, Trevor and a few others that said to try a little CaN03 (calcium nitrate) along with a kelp/humic/fulvic/amino acid mix from the Shuttle 14 product Sustenance. I'll also start using Shuttle 14 Harden (potassium/magnesium/kelp) in the rotation as well.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback both here and by email/Glenn

As a follow up here, I added some calcium nitrate both by drench and foliar and not only did the plant perk right back up but looks better and the interveinal chlorosis and marginal necrosis as not spread to any other leaves. Thanks again everyone.
