Kevin, How deep did you make the cross slice and did you do it at both ends of split or just kin end. Entry of split starting in my diary.

I made incisions at both ends. They don't have to be deep to be affective. About 1/4" deep on the fruit side and 1/2" deep on the stem side. If the crack continues past the incisions, then do it again.
