I was digging these russet potatoes and every single one is damaged and eaten. at first I thought it was mice or voles, but if you look carefullly, you can see that the holes are perfectly round and don't have teeth marks. This is the work of slugs!! I had to do a lot of detective work to figure this one out. I've been gardening my whole life and I've never seen this before. When digging I could could feel little tunnels (about the diameter of my finger) in the soil leading to the potato. I had no idea slugs also lived underground!! crazy!?! Sadly the whole crop is ruined in this location.
