This is a photo of the measurements of the two watermelons I brought to the fair. I am wondering if I was too generous with the 215. It will be interesting to see what the fair measures it at. I am noticing lots of light to the chart pumpkins and melons this year. I am wondering if it is from the overcast, humid, and often smoky conditions that we had this summer. In other words, we didn't have enoough sunlight! The sun is actually the plant food. Fertilizer is just the vitamins.! Here is my "Johnny" analogy. (as my kids would say) We people can't grow big without calories. A diet of just vitamins, would do nothing for us. We need food, to grow and develop to our fullest!!!. I would imagine pumpkins are the same way!
