               Hey guys-
Just wondering if now is the best time to work in organic compost and plant a cover crop? And what is a good cover crop (rye/vetch?)
Pardon my asking if his has been touched on somewhere else.
  Thanks.

Depends on what you need. Rye is good for suppressing weeds the following spring. Vetch is a legume that will add nitrogen to the soil. Both are compatible with mycorhizae. Nothing says you can't plant them together. If you have soil diseases, mustard or a brassica helps but they suppress mycorhizae.

we always plant a cover that will winter over in the fall. Cereal Rye or winter wheat works well here, but we have a big tiller to till it in now, with a hand tiller we used annual rye grass, since it is easier to mow and till.
