Hi, sorry, this might be a very basic question but have to ask, On my plant, i have the main vine growing out, just yesterday i noticed another vine starting to grow out just near the end of the main vine. At first i thought it was just another leaf, but today it is definitely another vine. So now i have the main vine at about 4-5 feet long, and it has forked of into to vines, kind of like a snakes tongue if that makes any sense. So the question is, do i select the longest vine and cut the other one away?

If it is happening at the root end then it is a secondary vine, but if it is happening at the growing tip then the vine may be turning into a ribbon vine and most likely going to continue to divide over and over. If this is the case the vine wont produce on that vine.you may have to grow a fruit on a secondary vine . Do you have a picture in a diary to look at.we can guide you better if we see what your talking about?
