            | Midnight Punkin' Hauler | Butler, Ohio | I am learning that long gourd seeds seem to have a mind of their own. Out of the 3 I originally started, 1 sprouted after 1 week and is currently out in the hoophouse sprouting a 1st leaf. The other sprouted just last night, 2 weeks to the day after it was started. I started 2 more last saturday, and 1 has sprouted this morning, but here's the thing. The stem soesn't look right, it's white and fuzzy, and it's sprouting with the seed coat on , like normal though. I havent messed with it and I'm trying to see if it will pull through. These things are a whole different animal arent they?! Mike | 5/14/2005 11:49:55 AM |
            | LIpumpkin | Long Island,New York | Long gourds are not very often control-pollinated...so what you get might not be what you expect.... | 5/14/2005 3:47:12 PM |
