I'd buttress the sides of the pumpkin (shovel sand under the sides) like it was an emergency. Some growers disagree with this. Sorry to see... It may be nothing to worry about or it may be late.

I had a blossom-up birdbath split open on me last year and I sprayed black Flex-Seal on it, heavily; It 'stayed together' awhile (just sealed it), for like a week or so and in the meantime I sprayed more of it as the split also increased in width. Eventually (2-3 weeks?) it rotted and deflated, butt if I had caught it at THIS point in time?, I'd'a probably had a better result. Yeah, I know, the legality of it all - if it can be peeled away at any point, it'd be a great weigh to save a fruit, even if for EXH-only. My plan would be to do the above after spray-bottling the split with 2 TBSP. (Table Spoons) of Clorox in 1 Gal. H2O perhaps 2X a few hours apart, letting it dry, Flex-Sealing it and praying for the best.
No H2O2 nor alcohol for me in this scenario - I might get tempted, lol. PS---If not using Flex-Seal, I'd at least do the Clorox regimen, ongoing. eg

I get these every year, sometimes they continue through the season and sometimes they heal and disappear. Sulfur powder and a little paint brush to get it in the crack. Thats a small one but watch your water

I've gone for a minimalist approach sticking to the hydrogen peroxide, packing perlite under the sides, and a fan. So far so good. Thanks all.

Yeah I like h202 but once it fizzles out it's just water. And wet isnt great so I'd try to get it dry and keep it dry. Sulfer powder packed into the end of a straw and then blown out like a blow gun. I dont know how I know this works maybe I've done it...
