herbicide is sprayed on hay fields farmer bails hay hoarse or cow eats it it passes through animals digestive system still active in manure. but someone could have sprayed herbicide and it drifted onto your plant

I did conclude this was herbicide. I shoveled dirt from a pathway where the ground was soaked with herbicide. I knew at the time I was taking a risk. It took me awhile to remember this. The herbicide soaked into the dirt last year and then I moved some of that dirt this winter. The plant is doing better now but the half life of the herbicide seems to be about 3 months. Probably won't be really good soil again until next year. It may not be healthy to eat these tomatoes.
