I only have room for 3 plants in my patch. I was wondering if anyone has grown a plant in a pot for the purpose of getting the males to pollinate the other plants?

I grew one in a pot. It does get bound of course, but I did get flowers from it. Last year I just grew a plant in the ground and only kept the main and trained it away from the others. Once you get flowers and pollinate, just cut it out.

Why pot it? plenty of space with three short term plants. Plant it and let it grow....might be the one you want to keep! and grow into the other spot! plant 4 keep 3... GrowEmBig! Chuck
