2287 Sadiq ’22 Pumpkin and Plant Overview

Committing to the chosen pumpkin early allows for planning and set-up. Here the pumpkin in relation to the plant can be seen and also the two pieces of plywood being used. The reason for the two is the first one is pushed under the vine to the point that the pumpkin is about in the middle of the 4ft. x 4ft. plywood. Two layers of mill fabric are under the plywood and then there are two more on top of the plywood.

The challenge this positioning makes is s second piece of plywood has to be used to keep the pumpkins length on the firm and level surface. In the image the white area is the second 4ft. x 4ft, plywood piece. There is a double layer of mill fabric under this and two more layers will be added to the top, but for now it makes it much easier (and safer) to walk on without the mill fabric. This also shows the clear access to the pumpkin to make inspections and viewing easy. Only difficult part is getting to this area as the plants coverage in the structure is maximized.
