Half-Way Plant Removal
Despite the disappointment, the goal is to take this mid-season plant removal to evaluate the growing practices up to this point to identify weak spots or areas of improvement for future years. Typically, the grower can be the hardest on themselves, and even with this, there is not much suggestions for improvement. Plant material is clean inside and out. There were a few spots of Powdery Mildew and a few Whiteflies, but nothing to be concerned about. The weed control is “VTJohn” level. Drip tapes provided even watering and soil was consistent from old to new growth. Overall, the roots are in good shape, evident by the challenge to remove the vines. The pruning was good which makes the removal organized and efficient.
Now, back to work…
